Postika vs Postiz
Postiz and Postika look alike on paper: channel-based tiers, a 7-day trial and an MCP server for your AI. The real differences are open source versus a managed EU service, and how much product you actually need.
Pick Postiz if you want open source, self-hosting or the broadest feature set. Pick Postika if you want a simpler hosted tool from an EU company, billed in euros, where AI-created posts wait for your approval by default.

Choose Postika if
- You want a contract and invoices from an EU (Spanish) company, billed in euros
- You want AI agents to propose posts that wait for your approval instead of publishing straight away
- You prefer a focused product: calendar, approvals, MCP and API, nothing else to configure
- You or your clients work in French, Italian or Spanish and want native product and support
Choose Postiz if
- You want open-source code you can audit, fork or self-host on your own server
- You need networks beyond the eight majors, such as Reddit, Discord, Mastodon or Telegram
- You want built-in AI writing and analytics inside the scheduler
- You value a larger, more mature community and ecosystem
Where the two tools are genuinely similar
This is the closest comparison on our site, so it is worth being precise. Both tools price by number of connected channels, not by seats. Both offer a 7-day free trial, a public API and an official MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor create posts for you. Both cover Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Threads and Pinterest.
If you are comparing the two because you want an AI assistant to manage a calendar, either will get you there. The decision comes down to how you want the software delivered and how much of it you need. The verified side-by-side table on this page lists the details we could confirm on each official site.
Open source and self-hosting: where Postiz wins
Postiz is open source. You can read the code, run it on your own server and avoid a subscription entirely if you have the time to maintain it. For developers, privacy-sensitive teams or anyone who wants full control over where data lives, that is a real advantage and Postika does not offer it. Postika is a hosted service only.
Postiz also does more. It supports extra destinations such as Reddit, Discord, Mastodon and WordPress, and it ships its own AI assistant and analytics. If those matter to you, Postiz is the better fit and you should try it.
Postika deliberately does less: a weekly and monthly content calendar, drafts, a pending-approval state, per-network previews, the MCP server and a REST API. There are no analytics, inbox or built-in AI writer to learn or pay for.
EU company, euro billing and approval by default
Postika is built by Miranda Network SL in Spain. Prices are set in euros (€29, €39, €49 and €99 a month for 5, 10, 30 and 100 channels) and Stripe charges you in your local currency. For European businesses that want an EU counterparty for invoices and data processing, that can simplify procurement.
The second difference is how AI posts are handled. When Claude or ChatGPT calls Postika's create_post tool, the server tells it to prefer the approval mode: the post lands in your calendar as pending approval and only goes out after you confirm it in the app. You can still ask for schedule, draft or now explicitly. If you are nervous about letting an agent near a client's account, this default matters. Read more in our guide to MCP for social media.
Switching from Postiz to Postika
There is no importer, so plan a short overlap rather than a hard cutover.
- Start the trial and create one project per brand or client (projects are unlimited on every plan).
- Connect the same channels you use in Postiz and set each project's time zone.
- Recreate your next two weeks of posts, or ask your AI to do it through MCP after connecting it from Claude or Claude Code.
- Pause the Postiz queue once both calendars match, then cancel.
Media cannot travel over MCP, so for Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube your AI leaves a draft and you attach the photo or video in the app. Check pricing for the tier that matches your channel count.
Frequently asked questions
Is Postika a fork of Postiz?
No. Postika is a separate, closed-source hosted product built by Miranda Network SL in Spain. The plan structure is similar because both price by connected channels, but the code, company and roadmap are independent.
Can I self-host Postika like Postiz?
No. Postika is only available as a hosted service at postika.app. If self-hosting is a requirement, Postiz is the right choice because its code is open source.
Do both tools work with Claude and ChatGPT?
Yes, both offer an official MCP server. In Postika you paste https://postika.app/api/mcp as a custom connector, sign in and click Allow. By default Postika asks the AI to leave posts pending your approval.
Which one has analytics?
Postiz includes analytics; Postika does not. Postika focuses on planning, approval and publishing, so you would keep using each network's native insights or a dedicated analytics tool.
Which is cheaper?
The tiers line up closely by channel count, but Postika is priced in euros and Postiz in US dollars, so the better deal depends on your currency and the exchange rate. Self-hosting Postiz can cost nothing beyond your server.
