Let Claude plan and schedule your social media posts
Add Postika to Claude as a custom connector and Claude can read your calendar, write posts for each network and leave them scheduled or waiting for your OK. It works on claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the mobile apps.
Step by step
- 1
In Postika, connect the channels you want Claude to post to (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads and so on) inside a project.
- 2
On claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector.
- 3
Name it
Postikaand paste the server URLhttps://postika.app/api/mcp. - 4
Click Connect, sign in to Postika and click Allow on the permission screen.
- 5
Start a chat and ask Claude something like "What is scheduled in Postika next week?" to check the connection. The same connector shows up in Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps on that account.
Example prompts
- Read what is already scheduled in my Acme project for the next 14 days and tell me which days have no posts.
- Here is our product update (pasted below). Write a LinkedIn post, an X post under 280 characters and a Threads post under 500, and leave all three for my approval on Tuesday at 09:00.
- Plan four Instagram captions for this month's launch, one per Thursday at 18:00. Leave them pending approval; I will add the photos myself.
- Rewrite the post scheduled for Friday on Threads so it fits in 500 characters and sounds less salesy, then create it again as a draft.
- Delete the drafts you created yesterday in the Bakery project. Ask me before deleting anything that is already scheduled.
- Using the attached PDF of our spring catalog, propose a two-week posting plan across Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest with one post per network per day.
What Claude can do once Postika is connected
Postika exposes five tools to Claude through the Model Context Protocol. Claude decides when to call them based on what you ask in plain English:
- list_projects: sees each brand or client you manage, with its time zone and current local time, so "tomorrow at 9" means 9:00 where the brand is.
- list_channels: sees the connected accounts, each with its character limit and whether it needs a photo or video.
- list_posts: reads the calendar for up to 62 days, which is how Claude spots gaps or avoids posting twice on the same topic.
- create_post: creates a post on one or more channels in one of four modes:
approval, draft, scheduleornow. - delete_post: removes a post from the calendar. Claude marks it as destructive and asks before running it.
Because Claude reads the limits before writing, it can produce an X post that fits 280 characters and a LinkedIn post that uses the room it has (3,000 characters) in the same reply. If you want the background on how this protocol works, read what MCP is or the longer guide on MCP for social media.
Approval first: Claude proposes, you publish
The Postika server tells Claude to prefer approval mode unless you clearly ask it to schedule or publish. A post in approval mode sits in your calendar with a "pending approval" state at the time Claude chose. You open it in the app, check the per-network preview, edit if needed and approve it. Until then it is not published.
If you trust a routine (for example, a weekly LinkedIn post about your newsletter), you can say "schedule it directly" and Claude will use schedule mode. You can also ask for now when you want something live immediately. Either way, Postika checks each network's limit before accepting the post, so an over-long X post is rejected instead of silently cut. More on why this matters in our page on the approval workflow.
Photos and videos: the one step you do in the app
MCP carries text, not files, so Claude cannot attach an image or a video to a post. For networks that accept text-only posts (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Threads) this does not matter: Claude can schedule them end to end.
Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest need a photo or video, and YouTube needs a video. For those, ask Claude to leave the post in approval or draft mode. You then open the post in Postika, drop in the media and approve it. A typical split is: Claude writes ten captions in two minutes, you spend five minutes attaching the right photos. See the network-specific guides for Claude and Instagram or Claude and TikTok.
Workflows that work well in Claude
Claude is good at reading long material and keeping a consistent voice, so these are the workflows people get the most from:
- Brief to calendar. Paste or attach a launch brief, a press release or a catalog PDF and ask for a two-week plan. Claude reads your existing calendar first and fills the gaps.
- One idea, eight formats. Give Claude one announcement and ask for a version per channel. It respects 280 characters on X, 500 on Threads and 2,200 on Instagram. This is cross-posting without copy-pasting the same text everywhere.
- Weekly review. Every Monday ask "what is scheduled this week, and is anything off-brand?" Claude only reads; nothing changes unless you ask.
- Agency mode. With one project per client, ask Claude to work client by client. Dates stay in each client's time zone.
Use a Claude Project with your brand guidelines as a file so every chat starts with the same tone of voice. Plans and prices are on the pricing page; the Claude connection is included in all of them.

Frequently asked questions
Can Claude post to social media directly?
Not on its own. Claude needs a connector to a scheduling tool. With Postika connected as a custom connector, Claude can create posts on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Threads and Pinterest, schedule them or publish them now.
Do I need Claude Pro to use the Postika connector?
Custom connectors are a Claude feature, and Anthropic decides which Claude plans include them. Check your Settings → Connectors page: if you can add a custom connector there, you can add Postika. Postika itself includes the connection on every plan.
Will Claude publish something without asking me?
By default, no. Postika tells Claude to create posts in approval mode, so they wait in your calendar until you approve them. Claude only schedules or publishes directly if you explicitly ask it to.
Can Claude add images to my Instagram posts?
No. Files cannot be sent over MCP, so Claude writes the caption and leaves the post as a draft or pending approval. You add the photo or video in Postika and approve it.
How do I disconnect Claude from Postika?
In Postika, go to Connect AI → Connected AIs and remove Claude. You can also remove the connector from Claude's settings. Either way Claude loses access immediately.
