Facebook is the most flexible network to schedule

Facebook is the one big network where a post can be text and nothing else. That makes it the easiest place to schedule announcements, opening hours, event reminders and links to your blog. Postika accepts:

• Text-only posts, including a link in the text.
• Photo posts with up to 10 images.
• Video posts with one video.

Postika publishes to Facebook Pages, the profile type businesses use. Facebook's official API is built for Pages, and personal profiles are not a target for scheduling tools.

About the character limit

In Postika, a Facebook post can hold up to 5,000 characters of text. That is far more than anyone reads in a feed.

What matters more is what shows before the "See more" cut. Put the point of the post in the first two lines, then add details. A short post with a clear photo usually travels further than a long one without.

Facebook best practices for Pages

• Keep a rhythm. Two to four posts a week, at times your Page Insights show your audience online, beats bursts followed by silence. A content calendar makes the rhythm visible.
• Tag links. If you post links to your site, add UTM parameters so your web analytics can attribute the visits. Build them with the free UTM builder.
• Mix formats. Rotate photos, short videos and text questions; Pages that only post links tend to get little reach.
