Why schedule LinkedIn posts

LinkedIn rewards consistency and timing more than volume. Most professional audiences read in the morning and around lunch on weekdays, which is exactly when you are busiest. Writing on a quiet Sunday and scheduling for Tuesday 8:30 is the simplest way to keep a steady presence.

Scheduling also makes review possible. In Postika a post can sit in "pending approval" until someone confirms it, which is useful when a founder posts what a marketer wrote, or an agency posts for a client. Read more about approval workflows.

Formats you can schedule on LinkedIn

  • Text posts: up to 3,000 characters. Line breaks help on LinkedIn; short paragraphs are easier to read on mobile.
  • Image posts: one image, or a multi-image post with up to 9 images in Postika. See LinkedIn multi-image posts.
  • Video posts: one video. LinkedIn's API accepts MP4 videos from 3 seconds to 30 minutes.

LinkedIn's swipeable PDF "document" carousels are a different format that Postika does not publish. Multi-image posts are the closest alternative.

LinkedIn best practices

  • Write the hook for the fold. LinkedIn shows the first lines and hides the rest behind "see more". The first sentence decides if anyone reads the second.
  • One topic per post. A story, a lesson, a number. Long is fine when it is focused.
  • Put links where they belong. Many writers keep the post self-contained and add the link at the end; tag it with the UTM builder so you can see what LinkedIn sends to your site.
  • Post on weekdays at a regular time and spend the first hour after publishing replying to comments in LinkedIn (Postika does not handle replies).
  • Repurpose long content. A blog post or webinar can become five LinkedIn posts; see content repurposing.

Your AI as a LinkedIn ghostwriter, with you as editor

LinkedIn posts are text-first, so an AI connected to Postika can create complete posts. Postika's MCP server tells the AI to prefer "pending approval", so drafts land in your calendar and wait for your OK.

Prompt: "Read my last three LinkedIn posts in Postika, then draft three more in the same tone about hiring our first engineer, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30, pending my approval."

You edit, approve and Postika publishes. Setup guides: Claude for LinkedIn and ChatGPT for LinkedIn.

Founders, teams and agencies

LinkedIn is where a lot of ghostwriting happens: a marketer drafts, the founder approves. In Postika that is the "pending approval" state, with the post already placed on its date and time. Agencies can keep each client in a separate project with its own calendar. Postika is priced by connected channels rather than by seats, so the person who approves does not change the price. More in Postika for agencies and Postika for startups.

Company Page or personal profile

LinkedIn treats personal profiles and company Pages differently, and most B2B teams need both. Personal posts from a founder or salesperson usually reach more people, because LinkedIn shows content from people before content from brands. Company Page posts build the brand's own history and are what candidates and customers see when they look you up.

A practical split that many teams use:

  • Personal profile: two or three posts a week with opinions, lessons and stories, in the first person.
  • Company Page: one or two posts a week with launches, hiring, case studies and event photos.

In Postika each LinkedIn account you connect is one channel. Put them in the same project when they belong to one brand, so the founder's posts and the Page's posts sit in the same weekly calendar and never go out at the same hour.

Frequently asked questions

Can you schedule posts on LinkedIn natively?

Yes, LinkedIn has a basic built-in scheduler. Postika adds a calendar shared with eight other networks, approval before publishing, one project per brand and an AI connection.

Can I schedule LinkedIn carousels?

Postika schedules multi-image posts with up to 9 images. LinkedIn's PDF document carousels are not supported.

What is the LinkedIn character limit?

3,000 characters for a post. Postika checks it before scheduling.

What's the best time to post on LinkedIn?

There is no universal hour. Weekday mornings in your audience's time zone are a common starting point; test a slot for a few weeks and keep the one that works.
