Step by step

Tell Claude what the month is about: a launch, a season, a shoot. Attach the brief or shot list if you have one.

Ask Claude to check your Instagram calendar in Postika and propose dates that are still free.

Let Claude create each caption in approval mode at the chosen time.

In Postika, open each pending post, add the photo, carousel images or Reel video, check the preview and approve.

What Claude has to respect on Instagram
Instagram is a media-first network, and Postika enforces that: no post is accepted without a photo or a video. Since media cannot be sent over MCP, Claude should always create Instagram posts in approval or draft mode. If it tries schedule on an Instagram channel, Postika returns an error saying a photo or video is needed, and Claude falls back to approval.
The other rules Claude reads from list_channels:
- 2,200 characters of caption, hashtags included.
- Up to 10 images per carousel in Postika (Instagram itself allows more; Postika's limit is 10).
- One video per post, which covers Reels.
Only the first line or two of a caption shows before "more", so ask Claude to front-load the hook. The full format rules are on the Instagram scheduling page.
Where Claude helps most: turning a brief into a month of captions
Claude handles long inputs well, so give it the raw material: the campaign brief, product sheets, the photographer's shot list, last month's best captions. Put your brand guide in a Claude Project and every chat starts from the same voice. One prompt can then give you twelve captions mapped to twelve free slots in the calendar.
For carousels, ask Claude to write the slide text as well as the caption, so the designer has the copy for each slide. Then you build the images, upload them to the pending post and approve. In Postika, connect the channels you want Claude to post to (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads and so on) inside a project.

On claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector.

Frequently asked questions
Can Claude post directly to Instagram?
Claude can create the Instagram post in Postika with caption and time, but Instagram needs a photo or video and files cannot travel over MCP. You attach the media in Postika and approve, and Postika publishes it.
Can Claude schedule Instagram Reels?
Claude writes the Reel caption and picks the time; you add the video in Postika. A Reel is a post with one video, which Postika supports.
How many images can a carousel have in Postika?
Up to 10 images per Instagram post in Postika. Claude can write slide copy for up to 10 slides and the caption to go with them.
