YouTube descriptions by Claude, uploads scheduled in Postika

Claude can read your full script or transcript and write a YouTube description that is actually useful. Postika holds the post until you attach the video and approve.

  4. 4

Upload the video file to the pending post in Postika, check the preview and approve.

Example prompts

  • Here is the transcript of my 18-minute video on sourdough starters. Write a YouTube description with a two-sentence summary, chapters with timestamps, and links to the recipe and my newsletter. Pending approval Sunday 16:00.
  • Write descriptions for these five Shorts, under 300 characters each, and create them pending approval one per day at 12:00.
  • Compare the descriptions of my next three scheduled YouTube posts and make sure each one links to the right playlist.
  • Make the description of Thursday's video shorter, under 1,500 characters, keeping the chapters. Save it as a draft.
  • Write a LinkedIn post and an X post announcing Sunday's video, scheduled one hour after it goes live.

YouTube rules in Postika

YouTube is video only. Postika does not accept a YouTube post without a video, and MCP cannot carry the file, so Claude always creates YouTube posts as approval or draft. The rules Claude gets from list_channels:

  • Video required, one per post. No images.
  • Up to 5,000 characters of text.
  • The post is published at the approved time in the project's time zone.

Shorts are vertical videos, published the same way; see YouTube Shorts. The general format guide is at YouTube scheduling.

Why Claude writes better descriptions from transcripts

A good YouTube description is mostly work you skip when tired: a clear summary, chapters, the links you mentioned on camera. Claude does this well because it can read the full transcript at once. Ask for chapters based on topic changes and check the timestamps against your edit before approving.

The other time saver is the announcement around the video. In the same chat, ask Claude to create text posts for LinkedIn, X or Threads that point to the video, scheduled shortly after release. Those networks accept text-only posts, so they go out on their own. See also Claude for X and the ChatGPT YouTube guide.

What stays in YouTube Studio

Postika publishes the video with its text. Thumbnails, playlists, end screens, subtitles and analytics are handled in YouTube Studio. If you need those, finish them there after Postika publishes the video. Postika includes YouTube in every plan (pricing).

One video, one week of posts

A long video gives you more than one upload. Ask Claude to find three or four short moments in the transcript that could become Shorts, write their descriptions and create them as pending YouTube posts over the following days. Then cut the clips and attach each one. Together with the text announcements on LinkedIn or X, one recording fills a week of your calendar without starting from a blank page.

Let Claude plan and schedule your social media posts

  1. 1

In Postika, connect the channels you want Claude to post to (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads and so on) inside a project.

  2. 2

On claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector.

  3. 3

Name it Postika and paste the server URL https://postika.app/api/mcp.

  4. 4

Click Connect, sign in to Postika and click Allow on the permission screen.

  5. 5

Start a chat and ask Claude something like "What is scheduled in Postika next week?" to check the connection. The same connector shows up in Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps on that account.
